Indian Golf Tour Pvt. Ltd. (IGT) is a sports management company with a primary focus on golf. With a wide range of operating interests in every aspect of the game, IGT is widely acknowledged today as The Golf Company in India.
Indian Golf Tour is primarily into managing and promoting golf events, marketing the Indian PGA, Amateur and Junior Golf Tours, television production, golf media management, player management, providing consultancy to golf projects providing content for GolfStyle, the official magazine of the Indian PGA Tour.
IGT’s efforts at promoting golf at all levels has paid off handsomely. The year 2004 proved to be a landmark with all three – Professional, Amateur and Junior/Sun Junior – acquiring umbrella sponsorship by three giants from the corporate world. While Amby Valley Sahara Lake City became the Tour sponsors for the professional circuit, Shaw Wallace and Nokia took on the Amateur and Junior/Sub-junior Tours respectively, a first in the history of amateur golf in India.
Exclusive rights of the PGA Indian Tour: IGT acquired the marketing and management rights to the Professional Golfers Association’s (PGA) Indian Tour in 2004 for the next five years. The total prize money on the Indian Tour, christened the Amby Valley PGAI Tour has seen a phenomenal increase in numbers with a whopping Rs 3.05 crores as prize money 2004-05 season.
Rights to the IGU Amateur tournaments: In 2004 IGT acquired rights to manage and market the National senior and Junior Amateur Championships.
Polo: In 2003, after nine years of focussing on golf, IGT made the conscious decision to diversify into other sports and events. In last two years has IGT successfully managed marketed the Maharaja Hari Singh tournament, India’s premier polo event.
Television production: IGT also has a television division, which produces the ‘Indian Golf Show’ a capsule that captures, every week, all the action on the Indian Golf Tour. The show is aired every Thursday on Ten Sports. The division is also responsible for creating audio-visuals.
Golfstyle: With the available expertise and in-depth knowledge of the sport, IGT provides content for GolfStyle, a monthly publication that has the distinction of being the only magazine in India focussing on Indian golf.
Media services: In 1998, IGT became the first sports management company to have its own full-fledged Media Division, which looks after media-related activities during any tournament.
Special Corporate Day events: IGT has successfully conducted several Corporate Day events. Our team creates events that have provided unique fun-filled day for business associates and executives of ITC Ltd, The Madhavrao Scindia Foundation, American Express, Ford India, Air Sahara, Bharat Petroleum, Business Today, Citibank, ABN Amro Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Oberoi Group of Hotels, Airtel, BPCL, Citibank, Pratt & Whitney and various other clients.
Player Management: IGT manages and markets India’s top golfer Jeev Milkha Singh and several star golfers on the domestic tour.
Consultancy: Our experienced team acts as consultants on various aspects of the game for corporates, golf courses and clubs, and the golf industry as well.
Conceptualisation: When IGT takes on an event, it’s not just any other event. We try and conceptualise various ways through which our clients can get value addition. IGT has also introduced various interesting formats to make a tournament unique.
